1. What is the idea?
The idea is simple: To try and make as much money as possible by selling words in our story. The motivation for doing this is my wife and children. They deserve everything that I can do for them. So everyone is welcome to buy as many words as they like. You will see the homepage is the true story of how my wife and I met and fell in love. Touching and a bit unreal at times. When you buy a word we will then display a banner and link of your choice in the image area of the page. Your image will be linked to your own website. However, no obscene or offensive images are allowed. Your link to your website will also stay on the advertisers list page for easy indexing for others to see. The story and ads you buy will be displayed on the homepage permanently. The homepage will not change. Using some of the money I make from the site, I guarantee to keep it online for at least 5 years. 2. Who are you? My name is Steve. I am a 51 year old husband and father who lives in Chicago Illinois. My wife's name is Nora and we have eight children, three who are still in school and living at home. As you can guess, expenses can be overwhelming sometimes. 3. Are you serious? Is this a joke? I am completely serious. Although this site may seem to be funny in various ways, it is not a joke. After seeing the million dollar homepage work, I came up with the idea to try something myself. Reason #1: for my family. Reason #2: I really wanted to tell the world our story. Reason #3: We could really use the money. Since we haven't won the lottery yet we're giving this a try. 4. How did you come up with the idea? This idea is actually a take off of the million dollar homepage where the site sold pixels. Instead of doing exactly the same thing I came up with the idea of telling our story and selling words instead. I had told my wife that I would like to tell the world how we met and how much I really love her. I thought this would be a good way to do that and also help us to support our family at the same time. Although selling ads on the internet is not unique, this is a slightly different way of doing so. At the same time maybe it will give someone else hope of finding that special love in their life. 5. What will you do with the money? First thing to do with the money is to catch up on bills and provide for my family. With anything above and beyond that, it will be used for college funding and retirement funds. Everyone knows that even when children get out on their own, they seem to need occasional help at times. May even explore other business ideas and have the funding to get one of these ideas started. 6. Why should I buy your words? Because you will have an image and a link to your site on the homepage of a site that could potentially be seen by millions of people. The site will be online for at least 5 years and possibly longer. Where else are you going to get that kind of bang for your buck? Your link will also be on the advertisers list page for additional bang. Besides, who else are you going to buy words from? 7. How long will the site be online? The site will be online for 5 years guaranteed. Unless I die within that time I have no reason not to keep it going. And if it is a real success, I may try it again with another site. 8. Are you worried about copy-cats/rip-offs? Not at all. In fact, I just put a different twist on an idea someone else came up with. So I think any copy-cat sites are actually trying to do this for their own gain, and if it works for them that's great! So I say good luck to the imitators. I would prefer it if they would at least put in a new twist to come up with something a little different. Copy the idea, come up with your own design. |
